Depending on the variety of the kiwi tree and conditions in which they grow, the kiwi trees will start bearing fruits within 3-5 years after they have been planted. Fruit development is promoted through proper pollination, frequent watering and pruning every year. The flowers normally bloom in late spring and the fruit in fall. Kiwis are to be harvested when half-hard, but completely developed after which they should be left to ripen within the house. Being patient and offering regular care in early years will result in improved long-term returns.
